Experience the Light

Theme Verse

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Psalm 36:9

Cadet Sunday Litany 2008–2009

Leader: In the Bible, light symbolizes holiness. So God and Christ and the Christian are characterized by light.

Congregation: The kingdom of light is God’s kingdom and the dominion of darkness is the control of Satan.

Leader: Give thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

Congregation: For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins.

Leader: God said, “Let light shine out of darkness.”

Congregation: He made His light shine to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Leader: This is the message we heard from Him and declare to you:

Congregation: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

Leader: If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

Congregation: If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Leader: We are challenged in all of life to Experience the Light. Truly we confess, “In your light we shall see light.”

Congregation: We confess together, “The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?”

Leader: Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.

Congregation: In Christ is our life and the life we live must be the light of men. We must reflect the light of Christ in this sin darkened world.

Leader: God challenges us, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.…

Congregation: The fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

Leader: Having experienced the light ourselves, God says, “I am sending you to [the world] to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.

Congregation: We are the light of the world. As God’s people, we do not hide our light but let it shine to give light to everyone.

Leader: Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.

Congregation: Our prayer is, “Lord, let us Experience the Light for in your light we shall see and be light.”
